It was in 1970 that the explosive Magma with their strange and beautiful sound mixing as various music genres as free jazz, classical, blues, progressive rock and pop in combination with their own compound of experimental symphonic rock music first erupted from our record players. In their more-than-40-years-long career Magma has recorded an impressive amount of records and albums, many of them centered on the mystical legend of the planet Kobaïa, which is settled by refugees from Earth in some distant future. Magma’s songs are all sung in Kobaïan, a language invented by the band, which fans of Magma have actually learned to decipher and speak to one another ! Their most famous albums include the trilogy “Theusz Hamtaahk”, “Wurdah Ïtah” and “Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh”, featuring songs of unbelievable precision and intensiveness for the avant-garde public. A legendary French group if there ever was one, Magma has continued to influence the course of contemporary music since their debut in 1970.
From September 2014 to November 2015, the now almost 70 year old Christian Vander and Magma have planned a new – and maybe last – concert tour all over the world, called “The Endless Tour”.
