Walt Disney Studios Cast Chinese Actress for Live-Action ‘Mulan’

Walt Disney Studios announced November 29th that Chinese actress Liu Yifei is cast to play the main role in the highly anticipated live-action movie Mulan.
迪士尼公司在11月29号宣布，中国演员刘亦菲将在备受期待的真人电影花木兰中饰演木兰。

A well known model and singer in china, liu is chosen out of a thousand people who auditioned according to the South China Morning Post.

She has starred movies like Outkast with Nicolas Cage and The Forbidden Kingdom with Jackie Chan.

The Walt Disney adaptation is based on The Ballad of Mulan, about a warrior woman who impersonates a man to replace her father in an army.
